Sorry to read of Danny's passing. I read this Jan. 2018 as I was looking for relatives. He was a good person and will be missed by all. I rode the same school bus 21 off conleys creek to Whittier School and lived a fourth mile on above him where he was raised. Only 9 kids on this bus on the mountain. When it snowed we would have to walk up the mountain. The bus could not make it. we were in the same grade. I knew his brother Michael too. We did not have all the things kids had in town. This made us strong i think. I wondered many times will life be easier. I did make it and sent myself to college 4 years and worked at the same time. I graduated high school in sylva due to my parents moving across the mountain. Danny also fished a lot up the creek. I knew his folks and all his dads brothers. We were kin and I heard some of the cousins talk about him working for the park. I remember his parents would take all the other kids on the road to the harvest festival at school. Frequently I ride by where I was raised and see the house across the creek where Danny lived. The family has good memories. And condolences to all. It's is difficult losing family and I lost my dad. Keep the memories.

Thank you for the kind words, Joelean. I am his youngest daughter and I appreciate being able to read good memories of my dad from his youth. He is greatly missed and died way too young. Would love to meet you one day!

Sharon and all: I am so saddened to hear about Danny. He was always such a favorite and I loved him so much. There just are not words to tell you how I feel. Our family has lost another loved one. I wish I could have been there but due to distance, traffic (holiday week end) and other constraints I simply could not drive that far by myself. My thoughts, love and prayers are with you all. If I can do anything, I would love it if you gave me a call. Love to all. Betty

Dear Sharon and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Danny's passing. He was a great mentor to me early in my career with the Park Service. He video taped our wedding in 1985 and also video taped a family trip to the Knoxville Zoo when we visited you all in Tennessee. We thank Danny, and your entire family, so much for the memories. You have all been so kind, generous, and always made us feel like part of your family. God bless you all.

I was so saddened to hear of Danny's passing. I worked with him here in Cookeville and he was a wonderful person to work with and wonderful person in life. He was always so full of life; it just does not seem possible to think of him otherwise, but maybe that is the best way. I feel so for your family; he was always full of stories of them and his love of his family was so obvious. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. I am sorry we will not be able to be at the visitation, but we will be picking up our daughter and her new husband at the airport from her honeymoon. I know she will also be saddened by his passing; as she got to know him from his sharing his computer expertise with her. He was a very multi-talented and sincerely nice man.

I could not of had a better friend. I had the honor of working with Danny at OPM and we were privileged to travel this great country as part of our duties. We took full advantage of sightseeing trips on weekends and on numerous occasions took our families with us. Sharon and the girls and my wife and son. We all had a great time and a lot of memories came from those trips to Texas and New Mexico. Danny enjoyed life each and every day. He loved his family and every time I talked to him he brought me up to date on everyone. Sharon he loved you dearly. In recent years we spent a few days a year at a friends hunting cabin in Hilham, TN. Danny enjoyed those trips and we loved his sausage gravy. There aren't enough tears but plenty of lasting memories. God Bless Danny Paris and his family.

Dear Sharon and family,
My heart grieves with you in the loss of Danny. Danny was a man you could always count on to try and do the right thing, to help someone in need even if they did not always appreciate it or could not repay. He was generous, quick with a smile and I can hear his wonderful laugh right now. I count him as a brother and had looked forward to retirement when I could maybe catch back up with him. I know I will get to in heaven some day though. Danny showed me how a true leader treats people and people always responded to Danny. No, he was not perfect, but he would be the first to tell you so. He was a wonderful friend and a memorable character that will live on in our hearts. I miss him even now and so would have loved to have had a more recent visit with him. I love you guys more than you know and PLEASE contact me at some point in the future weeks so maybe I can help you in any way I can. I would love to just talk to you all right now but am not going to be able to come to the service this weekend. Know you are loved and that we have you in our prayers. May God grant you the peace that transcends all understanding. God bless you all.

Sharon & Family,
Few people make such an impact on the people in their lives. Danny was the kindest, most selfless and humble man that anyone could hope to call "friend." Danny often commented on the humility and diligence of Bro. Clarence Green. I think that Danny and Clarence probably have had a great meeting in heaven. It will be with great joy that we too shall worship Jesus Christ with them and countless loved ones in heaven someday. May God's loving arms comfort each of you during this tumultuous season.
