Obituary
Virginia "Jennie" Sue Evans of Jamestown passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 29, 2022, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Jennings Funeral Home in Jamestown followed by interment at Taylor Place Cemetery.
She is survived by her:
Son, William Cady & wife Leslie
Grandson, William Cady, Jr.
Sister, Joan Upchurch
And cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends too numerous to mention
She was preceded in death by her:
Father, William Howard
Mother, Margie Ellen (Rains) Howard
Brothers, William Howard, Jr., Berlin Howard, Leroy Howard, Carl Howard and John Howard
Sisters, Lois Timmons, Betty (Toots) Crouch and Peggy Wood
During her career, she worked in the insurance, automotive, and administration fields in a variety of roles.
Over her life, Jennie lived in Nashville, TN, Lake Charles, LA, Killeen, TX, Austin, TX, Lenoir City, TN, & Arlington, TX before she finally decided to return to Jamestown to spend her final years.
She was also an accomplished poet who penned hundreds of poems, most of which talked about life in rural Tennessee and the Cumberland Plateau, which she loved so dearly. In recent years she even published some of her works for all the world to enjoy.
Of all her hobbies and interests the one thing she liked best was people and enjoyed nothing better than being around others as that’s what brought her the most joy.
