Kendra Taylor Obituary

Kendra Jane Taylor, age 35 of Grimsley, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville from Covid complications.

Kendra has been a lifelong giver, at a young age she worked for a company called Challengers Inc which assisted individuals with special needs to utilize their talents in the workforce. Because she had a passion to help others, she obtained a master's degree in social work. She then entered into a position as a Disaster Program Manager for American Red Cross. She managed teams of volunteers during the Gatlinburg Wildfire of 2016 and went to Puerto Rico for over a month to offer relief after Hurricane Maria in 2017. She managed teams in West Virginia after the flooding and helped many families start over after devastating house fires. Kendra has invested countless hours going door to door giving away smoke alarms and educating people on safety. She has also assisted in programs offering aid for the homeless. Kendra is currently the Emergency Planning and Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice of Cumberland County where she provides compassionate care to patients and their families during the last phases of life.

Due to Covid, and out of respect for the family and community, please wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing guidelines.
