John Robert Dishmon

John Robert Dishmon, 74, Marion, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System - Fort Wayne. He was born in Jamestown, Tennessee, on Sunday, June 30, 1946, to General Odell and Neta Maxine (Davidson) Dishmon.

John graduated from York High School in Jamestown, TN. After high school he proudly joined the United States Marines. He worked at RCA for 37 years. He was a member of the AMVETS, VFW, and American Legion. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Walnut Creek Golf Course. His biggest accomplishments after retirement were his many awards and trophies. He was known for being a great golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Dishmon of Marion; son, Robert Jackson Dishmon; brothers, Richard Dishmon, Ronnie (Gail) Dishmon, Ryan (Jennifer) Dishmon, Randy (Teresa) Dishmon; sisters, Doris (Gary) Harris, Deb Bertram, Donna Sue Terry, Michelle (Darin) Bullard, special niece, Stacey McKee; brother-in-law Jim (Bonnie) Dunlap and special friend, JC Hunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, General Odell and Neta Maxine Dishmon; brothers, Roger and Russell Dishmon; sisters, Ann Beaty and Diana Beaty; brother-in-law, Danny Bertram; sisters-in-law, Cindy Dishmon and Treva Dishmon.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

A celebration of life will be held in Jamestown, TN at a later date.
