Erna (Fowler) Gibson

Erna (Fowler) Gibson, age 85 of Byrdstown, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the Pickett Care & Rehab.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Jennings Funeral Homes Chapel in Jamestown. Burial will follow in the J.K. Choate Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Jennings Funeral Homes Chapel in Jamestown.

Erna worked many years in the shirt factory and jacket factory in Jamestown. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was always lending a helping hand to neighbors and friends.

Erna was preceded in death by her parents Will L. & Sarah Davis Fowler, the father of her children James Walter Gibson, brother Claude Harley (Tommy) Fowler, Sr., sisters Gora Jean Fowler & Lucille Fowler Brown.

Surviving are her 2 sons James Thomas (Tommy) Gibson and wife Stacey & William Eddie Gibson. Her grandchildren Thomas Gibson, Travis Gibson and wife Courtney, Katie Eldridge and husband Gavin, Brian Gibson and wife Jayna, Brooklyn Stephens and husband Cody, Megan Macioszek, Gwenith Carter and husband Samuel, and Zachary Macioszek. Great- grandchildren Deacon Gibson, Scarlett Gibson, Renleigh Karaline, Kyelynn Stephens, Brayleigh Kate Gibson and Edith Eldridge.

Special Friends and Family - Nephew Claude Harley (Buddy) Fowler Jr., Niece Linda Fowler Roberts, Friends Sarah Beaty, Tonya King and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the J.K. Choate Cemetery. Donations can be left at Jennings Funeral Homes.
