Carl H. "Skippy" Poll, age 75 of Allardt, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at his Home.
Carl was a jack-of-all-trades and a master of, well, most all of them. He was dedicated to every task at hand, never saying “no” to anything asked of him. He was a dutiful servant to the lord and an established member of the Allardt Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and custodian. He served in the Air Force and was stationed in Alaska for a time. He worked most of his career in computer programming and maintenance but also found reason to return to Alaska to work on the pipelines. He was a car enthusiast and loved attending car shows with his treasured Model T. He enjoyed meeting up with his “car club” and would talk about cars to anyone who would listen. He never met a stranger. He was a devoted father and family man who willfully adopted anyone that walked thru his door, caring for them as if they were his own family. A grandfather of two, he adored spending time with his boys playing with cars, taking naps, and watching his favorite cartoon Bluey. If ever asked how he was doing, he always responded with his trademark phrase saying that he was “Outstanding!” He truly was an outstanding man that will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Allardt Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Fentress Memorial Gardens with a Military Service at Graveside provided by American Legion Post 137.
