Betty Jane Stowers, age 80 of Jamestown, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at her home.
She was born in Clinton KY on August 7, 1943 to the late Phillip Allen and Lillie Pearl Smith growing up in Jamestown TN. After living overseas (Puerto Rico and Okinawa) and in multiple States, she relocated back to Jamestown Tennessee.
Betty worked at Jamestown Regional Medical Center and was loved by many. Betty was creative in every sense, an avid crafter often taking advanced classes: hand quilting, ceramics, porcelain dolls, carousel music boxes, handmade silk flowers/trees and floral arrangements, needlepoint, crewel, crochet, cake decorating, and oil painting. When not crafting indoors, she was often busy enjoying her gardens, growing vegetables for canning and spectacular flowers admired by many friends and family. She never forgot about the little creatures, as she always had a special place in her garden for the birds and squirrels to enjoy. With her extensive experience and wealth of knowledge on plants and birds, she was often the trusted "go to". When relaxing, she had a library of books and often freely shared amongst other enthusiast. Betty often helped others, treating many as her own; full of love, welcoming hugs, smiles, humor, infectious laughter, shoulder to lean/cry on and caregiving.
