Betty Louise Copeland, age 67 of Austin, TX., passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at South Austin Medical Center.
She was a 1971 graduate of Alvin C. York Institute, a 1974 graduate of Tennessee Technological University, and in 1989 earned her master's degree in library and information sciences from The University of Texas at Austin. Betty retired with over 30 years of library service at Dahlstrom Middle School in Buda TX and St. Michael's Academy in Austin TX. She was an active and longtime member of Hays Hills Baptist Church, a skilled and creative cross-stitcher, and enjoyed regular bingo rounds with friends old and new. She had a contagious laugh, an unparalleled sense of humor, and loved to tell stories - the more elaborate, the better. Her curiosity knew no bounds. Most of all, books and reading were her joy and world, and she took pride in sharing her love of that world with uncounted numbers of students. She will be missed by many.
