I knew Rev. Larue through Donna Samson of Beauty for Ashes ministry in the 1970s. When I learned that Miss Samson was very ill I talked with Rev. Larue and asked that she let me know when she passed. She did and then hosted me and my daughter for the weekend of the funeral--a very kind gesture. Kindness, thoughtfulness and a supportive spirit were hers. I am glad she had such a wonderful long life and sorry for her family to have lost her.

On a whim I googled Jo Blan Larue and was sorry to learn that she had passed. I did not realize she would be 100 years old. I met her through my volunteer time (6 months) with Beauty for Ashes near Grimsley in 1970. She was always very lively and positive and helpful. When Donna Samson was ill I talked with her and asked her to inform me when she passed. Mrs. Larue was sure God would heal Miss Samson and a week later she called to tell me that Miss Samson had passed. She invited me and my daughter to spend the night with her and her husband before the funeral. She was full of grace and love and so very kind. My condolences to the family.

I remember her reciting poetry with such excitement . There was Little Orphan Annie and others. I can't remember the other ones. Can anyone else?
