WHAT GOD HATH PROMISED
God hath not promised
Skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways
All our lives through;
God hath not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
Peace without pain.

But God hath promised
Strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way,
Grace for the trails,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
Undying love.

I and this community lost a good man and friend.
Anyone who knew Anthony knew he has a rough
Past...but he turned his life around for the better.
He always had a helping hand and a smile for
Everyone!! I know an angel was there to aid you as
You crossed over...Rest in peace my dear friend .

Lately I have realized that some people will go their entire lives only doing for themselves, maybe for their family, but NEVER extending kindness or love to anyone outside their bubble.

These people will die peacfully of old age, hardly ever sick or encountering much hardship in life. They will be missed by their families but never by their communities. These people are good people. Plain and simple.

Some people however lead lives that are FULL of meaning. These are GREAT people. Great people lead lives that shout out the fruits of the spirit like longsuffering, patience, kindness, and faithfulness, and the ability to overcome and persevere all that may come their way.

These people are the ones who stop on the side of the road when you have a flat, not the ones who rear end you in the parking lot and drive away. These are the people who always say 'yes' and are willing to extending a helping hand, even when they don't feel well themselves.

Early this morning my hometown community lost a GREAT person. He wasn't someone with a well known last name, a banker, broker or business man. He was a prisoner, a HARD WORKING, kind, gentle, faithful and righteous prisoner. This man went through turmoil that most of the us will NEVER know. Praise GOD though, he didn't leave this world a prisoner, that's for sure. He left set free by his ultimate redeemer and friend, and for this I am singing praises today.

Anthony Randell Mangrum, My entire family, and SO MANY others in the community were touched by simply knowing you. Thank you for leading a life that spoke nothing to me but grace and redemption. You will be GREATLY missed.
